The Metropolitan Health Insurance Fund (Metro) was created in 2020 by Joseph G. DiVincenzo to meet a growing demand for more stable, reliable health benefits options designed for mid-sized and large public entities in the North Jersey Metropolitan area.
The Metro HIF was fostered under the Bergen Municipal Fund for three years, building members and gaining fiscal strength, and
separated to become an individual Fund in 2024. The Metro HIF is one of the fastest growing HIFs in the state,
serving Essex, Hudson, Union and Middlesex Counties.
The Metro HIF is one of the New Jersey Health Insurance Funds – Powered by PERMA, which created the original HIFs in New Jersey, and has an over 30-year track record for success and fiscal responsibility.
